Well, Narconon is a long term, drug free, non-traditional drug
abuse treatment center.
What this means is that Narconon for one does not believe in the use of drugs in the treatment of drug or alcohol abuse.
Rather we address the factors leading up to and then continuing alcohol and drug abuse.
Substituting one drug for another just makes no sense! We are long term in that the program is designed for results not amount of time spent in rehab. Our average stay is generally 90 – 120 days depending on individual needs. Our students go at their own pace to insure the full abilities needed are gained. We are also non-traditional meaning the normal 12 step methodologies common to shorter programs and not used by rather an approach of gaining and using new abilities to produce a happy and drug free, productive life.

Narconon Arrowhead is a drug

Rehabilitate means to restore to a former condition or state, while program refers to a series of steps to bring about an intended result.
At Narconon Arrowhead we use a multi-phase approach to first end drug
abuse and
addiction while restoring mental and physical health and vigor with full
detoxification of the body.
We then go on to assist the individual in handling issues surrounding cravings, guilt and depression that led up to and then continued the
abuse and addiction.
Once past problems and issues have been resolved to the student’s satisfaction he is ready to move into learning tools and abilities to enable him to confront the present and to create the future he wants for himself, family, career, etc. While there are probably as many issues to confront as there are addicts and each has his own particular scene, the above is the rough outline for achieving a drug free productive life for our students, while addressing each individuals particular needs.
Each drug, alcohol or toxin has its own long term effects as the result of
abuse and addiction. There are a couple of common denominators however when it comes to the long term effects of addiction.
One of these is the fact that these drugs and toxins can store in the fat tissues of the body for weeks, months, and even years after cessation of use. These can account for sometimes uncontrollable cravings for the drug or substance even though it hasn’t been used in sometime.
Strong feelings of guilt and depression are also common long term effects of
addiction due to sacrificing of integrity and values that accompanies the addictive lifestyle.
